Enhance the well-being and the quality of life of the people of West Virginia.

Goal 5 of the Strategic Plan is to “Enhance the well-being and the quality of life of the people of West Virginia.” As part of a land-grant institution, WVU Healthcare and WVU Extension Service reach out to the citizens of the state to provide them with quality healthcare and workforce education, economic development, and lifelong learning opportunities. This dashboard tracks the engagement of WVU’s extension and healthcare programs with West Virginia’s residents.

WVU Medicine Statistics

This graph shows information from the WVU Medicine Key Indicator Report. Notes: "Inpatient Discharges" tracks the number of patients who spent at least one night in Ruby Memorial Hospital or Chestnut Ridge Center. "Surgeries" tracks both inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures, excluding endoscopies, performed by WVU faculty physicians at Ruby Memorial Hospital. "Emergency Department and Urgent Care Visits" tracks patients treated at the Ruby Memorial Hospital Emergency Department and at WVU Urgent Care. "Births" tracks all newborns at WVU Children's Hospital, located within Ruby Memorial. "Clinic Visits" tracks all patient encounters in the Physician Office Center and other faculty practice locations in the Morgantown area.
